Project Officer (full-time, two-year contract), salary of US$1200 per month, based in Hargeisa, Somaliland

You will have a degree or appropriate qualification(s) in development studies or another relevant discipline.

S/he should have extensive practical work experience in policy advocacy and/or human rights projects, and proven experience of project/programme administrationandcompetence: in financial administration, personnel management, report writing and monitoring and evaluation. Experience of writing narrative and financial reports for developing projects; and in planning, monitoring and evaluation of policy advocacy and community participation are also essential.

You should have good organisational, coordination and project management skills; good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to think and act strategically in response to development issues.

You should also have a good grasp of gender analysis and dynamics; the ability to work as a member of a multicultural team, and to work on your own initiative. 

Experience of monitoring and reporting on funded projects; of working in a resource poor environment, and Somali language skills or willingness/ability to learn the basics of the Somali language are highly desirable.
