MAO Movimiento Ambientalista de Olancho (Environmental Movement of Olancho)

MAO is a  citizens' movement oganized by peasants and villagers of Olancho, in reaction to the great number of destructive  activities carried out in the region, resulting in an environmental crisis.   Among MAO's actions are the denunciation of the illegal activities of timber merchants and miners and the defence of the human and environmental rights of the people.

REHDES Red Ecologista Hondureña Para el Desarrollo Sostenible (Honduran Ecological Network for Sustainable Development)

REDHES is an organization which, in collaboration with several national administrations and eight NGOs, co-administers the protected areas of the North Coast through the sustainable development of the natural resources.

LIDERS

Is an association of cooperatives, the aim of which is to support the small producers in the marketing of ecological products, especially coffee, under the seal of fair trade.   It unites some 500 producers from some 11 cooperatives.

FUBNAPIB Fundación Parque Nacional Pico Bonito (Pico Bonito National Park Foundation)

The Foundation deals with the protection and sustainable management of the Pico Bonito National Park, and the development and improvement of the quality of life of the peasant communities in the park's area of influence.   In order to achieve this objective, it is encouraging the participation , access and appropriate use of the resources by the local people, through protection actions, looking after community forestry and agroforestry, public use with low impact, and the promotion of applied research, participatory running of micro basins and gender equality programmes.

ASONOG

The Association of Non-Governmental Organizations of Honduras (ASONOG) has had as a priority, since its beginnings at the end of the 80s, migration.   Its work began with help offered to groups of refugees from Guatemala and El Salvador during the 80s, and widened with integral aid to Hondurans emigrating to other countries in the 90s.   It is currently carrying out analysis and research on migration in Honduras and the Central American region, and advocacy round the adoption of internal and external policies for the protection of the migrants.

CONSORCIO

This is an umbrella organization formed by four local NGOs and Progressio, which arose in 1993.   The mission of the consortium is to increase the capacity of the NGOs which form part of it, to increase their effectiveness in actions aimed at the sustainable reduction of poverty.
It has three main aims:  the development of skills and abilities of the NGO personnel, improve the organizational and management capacity of these organizations, and support of  profitable and sustainable economic initiatives.

REMBLAH - Red de Manejo de Bosque Latifoliado de Honduras

This network deals with the sustainable management of the Latifoliado Forest, it has 23 members among organizations of agro-forestry producers, transformers of timber, public and private institutions, and others.    

CIPRODEH

CIPRODEH was established in 1982, with the idea of becoming an organization specializing in the promotion of individual and collective human rights, with a new focus.   CIPRODEH has supported processes of local and national democratization with the objective of strengthening new leaders and protagonists in the political field.

Its main objectives are: the generation of citizen participation, fostering the capacity for action of different social sectors, and improving the capacity of the people to gain access to justice.
