Progressio works in the following areas in Honduras:

Civil society participation

• Strengthening organisations of civil society and participation in local development.
• Supporting organisations and municipalities in the elaboration of local and regional development plans.
• Strengthening the organisational, planning and participatory capacity of civil society organisations and municipalities.
• Increasing the advocacy capacity of civil society organisations.
• The issues of participation, accountability and transparency are at the centre of the advocacy activities of partner organisations.

Sustainable environment 

• Fair trading and rural development, including sustainable agricultural practices. 
• Support for local fair trade organisations that promote marketing channels for small peasant farmers and rural families making handicrafts. Sustainable environment
• Working with partners on the sustainable management of their natural resources, food production using sustainable methods, and land use planning.
• Support for environmental education projects for children and communities and advocacy work on the protection of the environment with local and central governments.

HIV and AIDS

• Supporting partners with the establishment of an educational/ preventative programme directed to the most vulnerable groups including children and young adults.
