Challenging the structures of povertyProgressio's advocacy programme campaigns for local and international policies that benefit the poor and excluded in developing countries. Our advocacy coordinators also work to strengthen partner organisations' voices in decision-making processes that affect the poor. Alongside staff in our country offices, and with governments and civil society organisations, we carry out research and analysis, run public-awareness campaigns, provide briefings for decision-makers, the media, and development and community organisations, and facilitate networks around policy issues. Currently progressio supports three development themes: - Civil society participation - Making sure that poor people have a say in the decisions and policies that affect their lives
- HIV and AIDS - Supporting effective local, national and international strategies to address the causes of the spread of HIV/AIDS.
- Sustainable environment - Promoting the rational use and management of natural resources for the benefit of future generations.
